There have been regulatory systems in place to govern contests of martial art and skill since the earliest times. The purpose of these rules is to allow individuals to test themselves and one another honorably on even ground in fair and safe conditions. The AHF rule structure has followed this tradition by formulating and providing a regulatory system for participation in AHF tournaments. This structure encompasses both classical and historical forms of fencing and is designed to give the participants freedom to individually express their art and skill to the best of their ability.
